Chick Flick HANGOVER

I was home alone last night, so toyed with the idea of having an indulgent girly night... chick flick and wantonly unhealthily nosh. I own up {red-faced} to having NOT read the book *gasp*... but have a HUGE crush on Spooks actor, and Persuasion's leading man Rupert Penry-Jones (does that count?!!) I settled into a comfy chair and surprised myself by SOBBING (and I am no cry baby too...) throughout this film. Tears streaming down my face even afterwards when DH unsuspectingly walked in the door...

Not sure it would have had the same effect in a room full of people - but I am paying the mortal consequences with a chick flick hangover... you know the type; puffy eyes and a pensive mood.... wanting to write a novel, or a love letter, or just push the button and watch it all over again.

Rupert was worth it though.
I am off to buy the hardback and set the world to rights by reading another Austen classic. How dare I consider myself a woman if I have not fully educated myself on how complicated relationships really are...
In stark contrast my BETTY CROCKER Picture Cook Book finally arrived from the US. It is not meant to entertain - but with witty short cuts like spritzing a little cologne to lift morale, and 'harbor pleasant thoughts whilst working'... I think I can pick myself up and dust off the desire to dance on a lawn and get into the *real world*...

Ok, now I've got to see the movie...that is the best description ever of a "chick flick hangover". I've never heard anyone actually describe it, but I've definately had one...lol.

i have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to movies and I'm sure that I read book many many years ago - a self improvement phase!lol. I do though love Pride and Prejudice - I aspire to Mrs Bennett-esque type ambition for my daughter!
