Chocolate Fudge Cake...

Life never stands still!

BUSY does not even come close to describing the product agenda I have been managing at Design Objectives. We have so much launching this year that I barely get time to nibble at a rivita (could be because they taste like core'dinations cardstock) or lick some chocolate fudge cake. Plus there was a whole lot of doom and gloom which I didn't want to get pulled into. Craft is rocking... card making, scrapbooking, jewellery making, knitting, sewing... FYI it is so en vogue to DIY ;)

So issue 3 of Creativity Life is out - and still I get emails from loads of readers who want it more regularly, and better distribution... so next issue we have sorted something out ;) I am loving the look and feel of it - seems to have evolved into quite a neat little bundle. (...and you wonder why I don't get to blog ;)

I have a favour though! I *need* your comments and feedback on the REALLY USEFUL BOX range of products. If anyone out there has ever bought some, please leave comments on WHAT you use them for, and WHY they are good/great/pants!

Lastly, there is a really special TSV airing next Friday (17th April) - might get a giveaway set for one lucky blog follower...

Love the look of that cake. I have a few of those boxes of various sizes. I use them to store paints (great for alcohol inks), papers and other crafting product. They seal really well and you can see the items in it. Really good quality and great price.

Hope this helps.

I don't own any really useful boxes but I have been trying to find one thats like a suspension filing box for 12x12 papers as that would be soooooooooooooooooo handy

I have one or two of the really useful boxes and I like them but they have one or two little snags to them.

eg: when you pick them up when you're already carrying too much they come unlocked and everything goes everywhere.
Also I have very little space so things have to be put on top of one of one another. Now the Really useful boxes stack nicely but if you want the 3rd box down from the top you can't slide it out because of the way they stack. Now I know this is a good thing that it does stop them toppling but I prefer my normal plastic A4 containers which by careful pulling and pushing the boxes above back into place I can slide the one I want out without lifting every box out.
Sorry for rambling.
your cake looks really tempting.

I have several Really Useful Boxes on my large Expedit shelf - use them for storing my unmounted/acrylic stamps and letter stickers.

i have a really useful box that goes every where with me. Its a large one with 12 x 12 hanging files. I have 15 files in it which holds every piece of CS and PP that i own.

I also bought a nesting set. 4 boxes which when stacked all sit nicely on the largest box. Perfect for ribbon scraps, flowers, brads etc.

I would highly recomend them, mind you ordering direct from them is a bit steep on PP as it £12!!!!

I have 4 12 x 12 size boxes and keep all my scrapbook papers and card in them...they are a perfect size and I stack them on a shelf next to each other in an upright position,so they're really easy to get at.
Their main snag is that they do sometimes come unlocked when you pick them up...but so far the contents haven't emptied out.
I also have a few A4 sized ones and keep a variety of A4 sized stuff in them and stack them in twos.
At the price they are [much cheaper than any storage specfically for scrapbooking] I think they are great value.

Glad to see you back blogging again :) Love my RUBs. I use the larger ones for paper & chipboard and the smaller ones for little embellishments. I like that they come in nice colours like pink & turquoise but they're transparent enough to see what they contain. The grip seal is secure & they stack neatly. Certainly live up to their name!

Yummy cake! I'll have the big piece please.

I have a few RU boxes. I've got 2 12 x 12 boxes for keeping my papers and card in, a couple of the little ones for keeping ATCs & ATC sized off cuts & a couple of the big boxes, one for Christmas stash and the other for general storage. I love them!

Hi Becks... nice to see you back..

Really useful boxes.. they really are! I buy mine in a range of different sizes and use them for all things crafty! I have my whispers pens in one, permanents in the other, stamps, paper flowers, buttons, you name it, they're in it!!!

I love how they stack together, and I never ever have a problem with them falling over, however much I pile them up - which in my studio is quite alot!

Yep.. definately love them - you only have to take a peek at my staples business account to see that! LOL..

Pleased to see you blogging!
Love my RUBs, the variety of shapes and sizes is really versatile. Nice little ones that fit ATCs and 12x12 that stack up nicely. The lids stay on well (unless you pick em up by the clips!) and haven't warped out of shape like my Artbin ones have.

i absolutely adore really useful boxes! i use them to store everything craftywise - card blanks, decoupage sheets, acrylic stamps, ink pads, embossing powders and have lots of the small boxes to store flowers, brads, chipboard and anything that comes out of small packets that can't be resealed.
i also use them for my cross stitch supplies and use them to store my speciality threads in.
the kids toys with little bits are also stored in the boxes.
i am sure my house is like a really useful boxes storage display!!

I couldnt live without my really useful boxes! I use em for everything...to name a few sizes i have, there is 2 12x12's one is used for the paper and embellies i currently use/love/new ones. The other is used for projects i am working on. I also have 9 ltr boxes for stamp storage, smaller ones for coloured pencils(my expensive ones i like to keep seperate!) i have a few for postcards and 4x6 photos. a large one for storing misc pattern paper and one for housing foolscap hanging files to keep my kids school stuff nicely organised! They are cheap to buy aswell(not to mention the funky pink colour you can get them in ;o)! No, i dont work for really useful boxes!! I just LOVE em!!!
Glad you are back blogging again!

Glad to see you blogging again! RUBs, i have a few, but tend to buy them for specific purpose, so it's the varity of sizes makes them so versatile. Love their transparent nature as i can see what's in them.

Iuse rub boxes for nearly all of my craft storage. I have a purpose built lightproof cupboard, to house them which was designed and built by my Daughter as an A level project. It holds 7 of the 7litre boxses to hold my 12x12,a bottom rack of six of the pencil sized boxes for embossing powders, glitters etc; next to them there is a row of A4 size boxes and the door holds loads more of the smaller boxes and other small stash. Have had the cupboard now for two years and all the boxes are as good as new, despite being taken backwards and forwards to crops, dropped etc. Have also started storing some of my embossing powders in the very small boxes to make application to chipboard etc easier.

The boxes are strong, lids stay on while being transported and it's easy to see what's inside. Alos easy to hang tags on the handles to remind me what papers are in each.

I keep meaning to by some of those boxes but I find them a little expensive. I love the way the stack, but I resent paying £9.99 for a BOX. I love the range of colours they come in though.

I have two for storing my patterned papers but found them a bit pricey at Hobbycraft!!! much cheaper when you buy a set at staples but i only wanted the 12 x 12. They do come undone sometimes and i know what the above comment means when you can't pull out the one you want as they interlock, so I only have two!!

I have several that I use for storing my cardstock. I love the way they stack but agree with other posts a little expensive for a storage box but that is outweighed by their the usefulness (is that a word). They do fall open if you don't pick them up properly and catch the handle. Would still recommend them though.

Really Useful boxes! Love them. Very sturdy, wide range of sizes, they have a 12x12 size which has a tray for bits and bobs which fits in the top, really handy for seperate 'projects' all together in one box! The teeny little ones are great for charms and embellies...
Yeah, I'm a fan!

I use the 12x12 for papers and cardstock.I like the fact that they are clear and you can see whats inside. Im not fond of the coloured ones. It would be helpful if the clips could be stronger with a handle on the side for carrying around to crops etc.

Glad you are back.
Really like the boxes, I have a few of them but find it hard to get hold of them.
I use them for storing glues, spritzer inks, ink refills, alcohol inks, stickles etc.
Would like some larger ones to store 12 x 12 papers.
Hugs,

Was expecting a recipe for Choc Fudge cake just then, courtsey of Nigella Faggs-Lawson!
Really like the Rubs as they stack really well, are clear so you can see inside (don't like the coloured ones), the lids don't break like cheaper versions, they have handles and the fact you can get them in different sizes mean my storage all matches!!!!! Have 12 x 12 papers in one and the larger box with hanging suspension files houses all my household accounts. Bought a smaller one specifically for the doodlebug glitters but that hasn't made it out of the kitchen yet where it keeps getting used for other things!
Do find it can be a bit pricey though and don't like spending money on storage when there's so much else to spend money on.
Off to google chocolate cake recipes.....

Hi Becky, I have a few Really Useful Boxes and they're great! I use the small ones for bits 'n' pieces like toppers, beads, buttons, jump rings etc; medium ones for storing clear stamps; and slightly larger boxes for keeping all my embossing powders and glitter glues in.
Hope this feedback helps!

I use lots of really useful boxes - I have a storage unit that holds the big ones, perfect for different stash sorted by theme. Very small ones I use for little tools like my MM stapler and staples, oddments of ribbon and little treasures like non adhesive gems. A bit bigger ones I use for small embellishments which are still in their packets.

Hi Becks, welcome back!! I have some of the RUB and I use the large one for holding all my 12.5 x 12.5 zip lock bags with my pp and card stock, I sort them into colours and if I buy the whole range, then ranges. They sit on the floor right beside my desk and they are the best bit of stash organisation I have as I use them all the time. RUB Rock!!

I've got quite a few RUBs and love them - in fact I need to go out and buy a couple more this weekend. The 30 x 30 inch hanging suspension file one is good, and I have ones in a range of different sizes. I use them all teh time to store things in and transport things to our crop. Lots of the other people there use them lots too.

I have several RUB I love them. I have also found that they fit the ribbon Stool & Store organizer just perfectly. The 3L and 9L are my favorites and I recommend them to ribbon users at scrapbook shows all the time now. There might be a photo on the site by now www.ribbonspooler.com
