I pretty much had my *serious wish list* all granted... and I am more the merrier for it. I remember this time last year, and I was not in a particularly great place (work wise) - so looking back at 2008, I can count my blessings... and see that some hard (and not always popular) decisions paid off.

Dusting myself off, and shaking the "serious" malarky, I have some delicious goodies up for grabs. Cute and adorable must-have mini Core'dinations 6x6 Black Magic... If you have *yet* to convert to Core'dinations, let me tell you why you *need* to try it! You could use it as plain old black cardstock with a hint of a shimmer... OR you could unleash the beast and toy with it to create pretty pucka background effects. I spotted this <<< on scrappindipity.com.au and love the effect!

You can sand over embossed (raised) designs to reveal the coloured core - or you can take yourself back to days of yore and relive those *brass rubbing* days to create a rubbing of whatever it is you have to hand. You can create some pretty funky bespoke backgrounds this way...

CHA Summer 08 - Day Three

Spotted: Ellison/Sizzix (yep, I am a little confused too...) have launched a *new* electronic feeder die cutter - called the Big Shot "Express". It is the basic Big Shot with a motor... so slightly heavier (but not like lugging a sack of potatoes around!) What is really exciting (and one blog watcher asked for these pics!!) is the Hello Kitty licence. Although it is for the US only at the mo (and Kristen is working on the UK and EU...) it is a girl wonderland of kitten cute. Does my 5 year old love Hello Kitty - well... hello?!! I have a Kitty lip gloss sat next to my toothbrush - and my little princess is all about pink, bows and cutesy. She will be up for all of this!!

When you see what Core'dinations cardstock does up close - like that shading on the US Flag?!! it is easy to see why card makers are going nuts for it. The 'Angel' pic is die cut vintage cardstock... and I am pretty certain this cardstock is going to give you a reason to get that dusty die cutter off the shelf, and back on the desk ;)

I did get tickled by big G at Quickutz for saying their tool was a nut cracker - so hands up, I had failed to mention it was a prototype, and the real one is going to be a sleek mean love machine (try and say "my love machine" to any non-scrapper with a straight face.... ;)

Anyways... here is a new perspective from someone I really like...

"Keep in mind the 'Love Machine' is $10 less than the Ellison/Sizzix offering and it is true it may be a little larger, I believe the expression you used was a "little heavy on the hands" but I would think consumers would appreciate a tool that offered a little more versatility, and a whole lot of LOVE! Oh and come October, there will be no "nuts cracking" just a whole lot of happy consumers using the one machine that does it all."

Sounds like we need a road test challenge!!! You all agree right?

CHA Summer 08 - Day Two (cont...)

I adore Jenni Bowlin... she has to be the tinest superstar at the show... just petite as heck, and beauty in abundance. That gal knows how to create flippin cool stuff - and the mud pie she introduced to me wasn't half bad (which translated means it wasn't half good either... americans can be great at most things - they just don't *rock* the chocolate boat ;)

Dream Street Papers have oodles to tempt... and my fav (even up close and personal) is that Simply Stated line by Amt Teets. It is lush... with a capital L.

Spotted: Like I *need* a reason to like Core'dinations... but chocolate?! Seriously has me hooked on the new line. I also spotted some amazing techniques (but more on that in day three...)

Spotted: Chocolate Box from Core'dinations...

Spotted: Well you've adored the Black Magic... so here is a new addition from the clever people at Core'dinations which has us girls at heart. The new CHOCOLATE BOX range is launching at CHA Summer show (only a week or so to go!!)

Am I a sucker for anything chocolate related... urm, that will be a yes!

Conveyor Belt Crafting...

On a different note... Not the most inspirational process; but conveyor belt crafting seems to be the method for success when it comes to "Christmas Card" production. I have a craft night tonight and we have skirted around the issue of starting early. I am an eternal procrastinator when it comes to Christmas Cards... so maybe the earlier I start the more chance I have of success... {I am working on 2009}

I think if you craft and you give someone a *bought* card - they end up giving you THAT look...you know the one...the "so I wasn't worth your time?" look.

Guilt. Excuses. More Guilt. (It's a real party pooper.)

One year I got a hand crafted CROSS STITCH card from a neighbour and did think - oh my goodness, am I really worth it?! It does get pulled out each year though - would never throw it away... which goes to show that handmade does pack a punch ;)
