Bloomin' Hard Work!

Anyone who says that presenting is easy ain't telling the truth! It is bloomin' hard work (...granted not as bad as labour or gallstones; but back to back it is gruelling! I do not know how DB keeps up - and manages to look un-phased by the process ;)

Anyways, it was one heck of a weekend - and I got to meet the Bobbi Brown team, Maxx NY owner and drool up close on those killer handbags, Liz Earle presenter... and Julia Roberts (*highlight*) I am one of those people who DOES get a little star struck - so I had to pull myself together and try not to dribble and speak incoherently...

Alas...farewell Tony Hart!

Tony Hart has died at the age of 83... leaving many of us with fond memories of THE GALLERY (the ultimate showcase for wannabe artists... from the age of 3 onwards ;) That dulcet tune that would play in the background as the camera scrolled through the week's lucky entries - and you KNEW yours would not be there... as it was still sitting on your bedroom dresser. If you had used chalk smudges, and that awful charcoal substance - then you were a shu-in to be picked... So long, farewell... Mr Hart. Long live Morph!

Christmas is creeping up... {and winners!}

OK.

I have been hit by the Christmas magic. You know when you *think* you will have enough time to do everything on your never ending list - but then end up waking in a cold sweat, panicking that there is someone you have forgotten to buy for, and that you have run out of wrapping paper, mincemeat and the will to endure another week of jingle bells... WHERE does December go?!!

Anyways, I will announce the winners of all the previous Wednesday winners this week before hanging up my blog boots for the festive few weeks so I can sit back and relax before JANUARY and trade show season hit BIG TIME!! I just got a sneak peak at the one of the new ad's hot off the marketing press, for the new January lines from Papermania...

This range was designed by a UK designer... not sure if she wants to be named (she may be shy ;) but this is bursting with lilac and lavendar with smatterings of apple green. Very cute range... retro chic!

We threw out the old boys and rolled our sleeves up and got back to basics... Whatever you THOUGHT you knew about Design Objectives in the past, I can tell you now, the new look and feel is something TOTALLY different. We are all about partnering with great designer labels and designers... and bringing you the BEST FOR LESS.

Fun Fridays!

I spent my evening prepping for QVC...

At the end of this month (October 28th) I go live for 2 whole hours. Having watched Clare & Kirsty hit the headlines this week with their Papermania hour premier, I am slightly nervous... but after speaking to them after the cameras stopped rolling, they were both buzzing.

I have been here before (in my previous life - and with a different shopping channel...) I do vaguely remember saying something innocent like "banging is therapeutic" (speaking OF COURSE about eyelet setting...) and having most of the camera men is tears, as well as Alan & Barry (remember them?!!) Still a whole new ball game... but at least I have some time to consider what to wear.

*NEW* from Papermania...

I love to see all the new products coming out from a fresh faced Papermania... and these cute (and affordable!!) clear albums are just the ticket for a trend driven crafter.

They hit shelves on September 1st - and cost around £9.99. I *know* they are green - but that is only so you don't scratch the surface before you are ready to that is ;) They are that lush heavy weight as flimsy just doesn't cut the mustard.

Also from Papermania are these cure 6x6 scalloped chipboard albums. They have chipboard covers and then their "guts" are a creamy cardstock - so the perfect base for all those little gift albums...

TREND ALERT!!!
Scallops as a trend for 08 is definitely continuing into 09. No sensible gal with any craft wherewithall is seen without her scallops. Whether neatly tucked into layouts, or adorning cards, this juicy shape is still turning heads...

Sparkle and Shine...

Sneak peak at thew *new* July release from Papermania - including CLEAR STAMPS for £7.99 (gorgeous Christmas (deep breath and try not to think of it) ones...) Also felt ribbon... just scrummy!!! New Doodlebug that is shipping to retailers... flock 'til you get enough!

Just to prove that Andrew DOES work... here we can see him inspecting Coventry... having scared all the retailers away. Phil's nose just in view (remind me to spill the BEANS on his Bean Casserole joke... it has us snorting our lunch up our nostrils... he is entertaining!)

I *love* that Extreme Makeover show in the States - with the house being blasted to the ground and all hands on deck to rebuild lives (amid tears and photo montages...) WELL - Emma C has been waving her extreme makeover wand to give Papermania a stonkin' facelift (without botox!!)
